Sea2Cradle is based upon a highly skilled and experienced team that can handle ships and maritime structures in all shapes and sizes. With increasing demand from interested ship owners in Green Recycling the team handled dozens of ships over the last years according to our own standards. Ship types involved range from large FSO’s to small survey vessels and anything in between, owned by numerous highly respected names in the shipping industry.
Aside from improving standards from an operational perspective we are actively participating in the legislational process and we promote Green Ship Recycling options for the Shipping Industry. The team behind Sea2Cradle has for many years worked towards establishing high standards for Green Ship Recycling and has actively participated in IMO’s work leading to the Ship Recycling Convention. Furthermore we remain involved in future work of European Commission DG Environment, ILO, IMO, Basel Convention and local governments such as China, UK and the Netherlands.
Nearly all our Recycling takes place at state-of-the-art facilities in China, where the whole process is documented in details. The Facilities are ISO 14000 and OHSMS 18001 certified. Good relationships with additional Facilities meeting our standards exist in the U.S., the U.K., Turkey and Belgium and provide Sea2Cradle with additional Recycling Capacity.
Our recycling procedures include a rigorous pre-cleaning, during which all hazardous materials are carefully handled, separated and disposed of according the highest standards. After the ship has been cleaned the dismantling will take place in the most orderly fashion. The whole process is closely monitored by on-site staff. Upon completion the ship owner will receive comprehensive documentation of the entire process.
Our biggest achievement is that to date we have successfully recycled over 60 ships in China with a Zero-accident record.
